Position Description:

To customers we present our high quality in-vehicle infotainment solutions in the form of self-developed prototypes. As a HW Engineer for Prototypes you set up and help to improve these prototypes so that they can be shown worldwide to all our customers. Within the prototyping team you take over a key role in building test benches and creating the physical appearance of demonstrators, constructing and assembling the hardware setup. This role requires an energetic and motivated individual with strong communication, organization, and technical skills and has the personality, desire and ability to deliver a quality experience to customers.


  • Plan and create test-benches and prototypes which consist of multiple network-connected embedded devices running different operating systems.
  • Coordinate sourcing and manufacturing of parts (e.g. metal/plastic elements) with external suppliers.
  • Assemble the previously designed prototypes using tools.
  • Work closely with System SW Engineers to bring-up prototypes and prepare them for testing and presentation events.

Experience & Skills:

  • Expertise in creating test benches or other embedded systems prototypes with a proven project track record.
  • Mechanical engineering skills to design, describe ideas by drawings (e.g. using CAD tools).
  • Electrical engineering skills, e.g. to prepare power supplies and voltage converters, handle (and occasionally solder) electronic parts such as PCBs, SMDs, QFNs, and displays.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills (written and verbal)
  • You are creative, self-motivated, proactive and able to work under minimal supervision
  • You pay attention to details and are highly self-organized
  • You are a team player
  • Proficient and fluent communication in English
